Metrics
Under Governance → Metrics, DB Studio shows how your change process is running: how many runs succeed and why the others fail, how releases and approvals move, who is writing scripts, and how the system is used. Every number is counted from the records DB Studio already keeps; nothing is estimated.
Choosing the Time Window
Pick Last 7 days, Last 30 days (the default), Last 90 days or Last 12 months. The window covers whole days up to today; the 12-month window starts on the first day of the month eleven months ago. Charts have one bar or point per day, or per month for 12 months, and a day or month with no activity shows as zero. Days follow the time zone of the browser you view them in, so a run at 9 PM in New York is counted on that day there.
Refresh reads the numbers again and keeps the current ones on screen until the new ones arrive. If the numbers cannot be read, the screen says why and offers Retry; if a refresh fails, the last numbers stay and the message says which dates they cover.
Deployment Health
| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Success Rate | Completed runs as a share of runs that finished, completed or failed, in the window. Runs still in progress or rolled back are left out of the rate. |
| Executions Over Time | Every run in the window, by the day or month it started, split into completed, failed, and running or rolled back. |
| Avg Execution Time | The average time of completed runs. The chart shows the average for each connection. |
| Top Failures | Failed runs, grouped by the database's own error message, most frequent first (up to ten causes). |
Release Pipeline
| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Releases by Status | Releases created in the window, by sign-off status, and how many releases there are in all. |
| Scripts Per Release | The number of scripts in the largest releases created in the window. |
| Release Throughput | Releases created and releases signed off in each period. |
| Executions by Connection | Runs in the window on each connection (up to ten). Runs on a connection that has since been deleted are shown as Deleted connection. |
Approval Workflow
| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Approvals by Status | Approval requests made in the window, by status. |
| Top Approvers | Everyone who signed an approval in the window; the chart shows the ten who signed most. |
| Avg Time to Decision | For requests made in the window and since approved or rejected, the average time from the request to the decision. The chart shows that average for the requests made on each day, or in each month; a day with no decisions has no bar. |
| Rejection Rate | Rejected requests as a share of requests that were approved or rejected. |
Script Activity and System
| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Scripts Created | Scripts created in each period of the window. |
| By Execution Mode | Scripts created in the window, by mode (Ad-hoc or Release). |
| Top Contributors | Everyone who created a script in the window; the chart shows the ten who created most. |
| All Scripts | Every script in DB Studio, whenever it was created. |
| Users | All user accounts, active and inactive. |
| Connections | Connections in DB DevOps and in the IDE. |
| Audit Events | Entries written to the audit log in the window. |
| Run Outcomes | Runs in the window by status, including runs in progress and rolled back. |
Reading the Cards
Each chart labels its dates, series and causes, and hovering shows exact values. A card with nothing to measure says so, for example No run finished in this window, instead of showing 0% or an empty chart. The button at the top right of a card enlarges its chart across the screen and shrinks it again. On a phone the cards are shown one per row.
The tabs can be used from the keyboard: the arrow keys move between them and Home and End go to the first and last.
Who Can See Metrics
Any signed-in user, on any license. Metrics include the names of people who signed approvals and created scripts.
