Notifications

The bell in the top bar of the IDE, DB DevOps and the portal shows how many notifications you have not read; DB Studio adds one when, for example, your script is approved or rejected, an approval is requested from you, or a release finishes. Notifications are personal: each user sees only their own.

Reading Notifications

Click the bell to open the list, newest first; unread notifications are marked with a dot. The list follows the light or dark theme. Each notification has its own buttons, named on hover: Mark as read or Mark as unread, and Dismiss, which removes it. Mark All Read clears the count, Clear Read removes every notification you have read, and Show More loads older ones.

Opening a Notification

Click a notification, or press Enter on it, to open what it is about in DB DevOps: the script for an approved or rejected script, the approval request for an approval, the release for a release. Opening a notification from the IDE or the portal switches to DB DevOps first. Opening a notification also marks it read. If the item has been deleted since, DB DevOps says so. A notification's link (/?app=manager&view=...&open=...) opens the same item when followed from outside the app.

Choosing What You Are Notified About

Open Settings from your name in the top bar. The Notifications card lists each kind of notification, each with a checkbox: someone asks you to approve a script or release; someone signs a request you made; a script or request of yours is approved; one is rejected; a release you created, or one you manage, is signed off; and a decision snapshot you captured fails or is incomplete. Clearing a box stops only that kind. A change saves as soon as you click and a message confirms it; if it cannot be saved, the box goes back to how it was and the message says why.

If Notifications Do Not Load

If the list cannot be loaded, it says why with a Retry button; if marking, dismissing or clearing fails, a message says so and the list is left as it was.

Keyboard

The bell is announced with the number of unread notifications and whether its list is open. With the list open, Tab moves through the notifications and Enter opens one; Esc or a click outside closes the list and returns focus to the bell.
